ABOUT US

The North Iowa Beer bus enables you to enjoy several breweries in one day without worrying about transportation. Relax, have fun, and let us do the driving!

North Iowa is now home to several craft breweries, all with unique taprooms just waiting to be explored. A food truck on a sunny day, an ax throwing competition with friends, a quiet board game, live music from your new favorite band — all of this and more can happen on a brewery visit, and we haven’t even mentioned the beer yet! Our little corner of Iowa is home to some of the best hand-crafted, small-batch brews in the state. Are you a devoted hop head? A malt maven? Maybe just a casual beer drinker? These breweries and their diverse tap lists have something for everyone.

How does the beer bus work?

You buy a ticket. We drive you around in a safe, comfy bus with 30 other beer-loving, fun-having folks. You pay for your drinks (and tip the hardworking bar staff) as you go. We return you to your start location. Each date the North Iowa Beer Bus runs is a different route, so check out our calendar to see what date works the best for your location. You must be 21 or older to ride the bus.

How much time do I get in each tap room?

About one hour. It’s enough time to have a leisurely pint or two and explore their space, use the facilities, and maybe even get a snack.

Who is organizing this?

The North Iowa Beer bus is a partnership between several breweries in the area who want to promote safe travel between their locations, reach new customers, and promote the love of craft beer.

What is the bus like?

We use the Elma Bus Co, which is run by Derrick and Angie Huffman. Depending on how many passengers we have, we choose from two different buses depending on how many people sign up for the beer bus (a 15-seater or a 30-seater). The Elma Buses are safe and comfy and ready to take us everywhere that great beer lives.

What can I bring on the bus?

You can bring drinks (water, beer, etc.) and snacks for the bus if you’d like! Due to space restrictions, please do NOT bring big coolers. Small coolers are fine. Keep in mind that you cannot take outside beverages into the breweries. Your bus bevies need to stay on the bus.

What if I get left behind on the route?

We want everyone to have fun, but we have a schedule to keep, so make sure you’re back at the bus at the appointed time. The bus driver will make it very clear each time the bus stops what time you are to return. You are responsible for finding your way back to your start location if you miss the bus at any point during the afternoon.

Where can we get tickets?

Right here! Tickets are $25. Click on over to our Get Tickets section to buy online. Tickets are not available off-line in any of the brewery taprooms. This website is the only place you can book a spot on the beer bus. As stated above, your ticket includes your transportation (and tip for the bus driver!) but you’ll pay for your beer yourself on the ride.
